Leg-spinners often trade runs for wickets and Rishad Hossain followed suit against Multan Sultans. He conceded 45 runs and claimed 2 wickets. But he wasn’t alone every Lahore Qalandars bowler struggled to contain the opposition, with six of Shaheen Afridi’s seven bowlers having an economy above 7.

Rishad Hossain started in the 7th over, leaking 10 runs. His second over, the 12th, cost 12 more. But it was in his final two overs where he struck, removing Usman Khan and Ashton Turner. He gave away another 23 runs in those overs, but his breakthroughs added some resistance.

Still, it wasn’t enough to stop Multan’s dominance. Mohammad Rizwan’s team posted a formidable 228, and Lahore Qalandars fell short by 33 runs.

Despite the loss, Rishad reached a personal milestone becoming the highest wicket-taker among Bangladeshis in PSL history, tying with Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah Riyad with 8 wickets. The difference? Shakib and Riyad needed multiple seasons; Rishad did it in just 3 matches.

He also set a new record for most wickets by a Bangladeshi in a single PSL season, surpassing Mahmudullah’s 7 from 2016–17. Currently, Rishad stands third overall in this PSL season’s wicket tally just behind Jason Holder (11) and Hasan Ali (10).
