Rishad Hossain’s Wicketless Spell as Lahore Qalandars Fall Short

Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain, who had been in fine form with eight wickets in his first three matches, went wicketless for the first time in his fourth game. Despite a decent start conceding just seven runs in his first over he struggled in his second, leaking 18 runs across two overs in a low-scoring contest.

Lahore Qalandars, defending a modest 129, began strongly with their pacers reducing Peshawar Zalmi to three wickets inside 40 runs. However, they failed to maintain the pressure as Babar Azam (56*) and Hossain Talat (50) guided Zalmi to victory in 16.4 overs.

Earlier, Lahore’s batting collapsed to 44/6 before Rishad (13 off 13) and Sikandar Raja (52 off 37) staged a brief recovery. Raja’s fighting half-century and Haris Rauf’s late 10* helped Lahore post a respectable total, but it wasn’t enough to stop Zalmi’s dominant chase.
