Opting to bat first after Lucknow chose to field, Punjab Kings posted a mammoth 236/5 in their 20 overs. Despite losing Priyansh Aryan early, the innings was powered by a spectacular 91 off 48 balls from Prabhasimran Singh, who smashed 6 fours and 7 sixes.

  • Shreyas Iyer contributed a quickfire 45 off 25.
  • Shashank Singh finished strong with an unbeaten 33 off 15, ensuring Punjab crossed the 230-run mark.

Lucknow’s Valiant Chase Falls Short

Chasing a daunting 237, Lucknow fought hard but managed only 199/7 in their 20 overs.

  • Ayush Badoni top-scored with a brilliant 74 off 40, keeping hopes alive.
  • Abdul Samad added a brisk 45 off 24, but the asking rate proved too steep.
  • Arshdeep Singh starred with the ball, taking 3 wickets to derail Lucknow’s chase.

With this win, Punjab Kings (15 points from 11 matches) leapfrogged into second place, just behind Royal Challengers Bangalore (16 points). Mumbai Indians (14 points) and Gujarat Titans (14 points) follow closely in third and fourth spots.
